The ABC’s of a Sex Toy: Ron Bellus & #GPSBoard Julie Smith gets caught getting excited over a “sexy” myth #commoncore

Gilbert Public Schools Governing Board candidate Ron Bellus has made Common Core as the centerpiece of his campaign for a seat in the school board. And when he read an article that reported that a certain Florida school teacher taught her 6th graders how to use a strap-on dildo, GPS’ very own George Washington impersonator posted the link in his Facebook page and noted:

Folks, this is beyond the pale. And a hint at what we can expect from Common Core and the feds’ involvement in our local schools. So, all you liberals/progressives: is this what you have in mind when you say Common Core will raise our standards?

Several of Mr. Bellus’ followers expressed their outrage. With one follower stating:

This is soooo alarming and shocking and disgusting. I am speechless!! Our precious children!

And another:

Absolutely disgusting! We have 5 candidates that are running for Gilbert Public School Board. 3 support Common Core and 2 Oppose it! Stop Common Core… Vote Bellus and Brimhall.

And then one of our favorite board members, Julie Smith, chimed in:

Ron, I am truly lost reading this article. As a Catholic, this is yet another attack on my religion, It is a mortal sin to do any of the things suggested in this article. It was hard to just look at the pictures. I pray for the children that were “taught” this trash.

And then party-pooper Mike McClellan had to rain on everyone’s parade by this comment:

Mr. Bellus, this is a fake news story. Check out snopes.com and you will find someone patched together pictures of a Canadian woman with a phony story. You should read and [sic] retract the post.

Then silence. No other responses. The virtual cricket could be heard in cyberspace.

Mysteriously, soon after Mr. McClellan’s comment, the post disappeared. It must be a Facebook glitch. Mr. Bellus would not just delete an obvious FUD that he posted and pretend it did not happened, would he? What would George Washington do?

Well we think the folks in Facebook messed up and luckily for Mr. Bellus we have a back-up so everyone could see what he really thinks, unadulterated. And we believe, like George Washington, Mr. Bellus will face it like a true patriot.

And here is Ms. Smith Chiming in.

For some reason, this image that we pulled from Mr. Bellus’s Facebook page seems applicable:

the_hypocrisy_of_ron_bellusListen to George, Ron. Listen to George.

As for that Snopes article that Mr. McClellan was talking about: Claim:   A Florida teacher gave 6th grade students an explicit sex ed lesson involving a strap-on sex toy to satisfy common core requirements.

We wonder which of these other myths does Mr. Bellus subscribe to: Anti-public school Myths, Lies and Misinformation surrounding Gilbert Schools.
